The winner of the Eurobike Start-Up Award, the Foldee project offers an original solution to this problem. Once folded, the bike occupies a space comparable to that of a classic city bike while retaining its cargo capacity.

This concept is particularly interesting for Paris and other large European cities where available storage space is often limited.

Foldee still needs to go through several stages of development and testing before potential large-scale production. Nevertheless, the idea seems very promising and could contribute to the development of compact cargo bikes in the coming years.

Adaptive Accessories Steady Ride Thru Axle and Canyon Defend Fast Fenders

Manufacturers are increasingly developing accessories capable of expanding a bike's possibilities without modifying the frame.

The Steady Ride Thru Axle system is a good example. This new version of the thru-axle allows a pannier rack, trailer, kickstand, or full fenders to be mounted even on bikes without pre-drilled mounting points for this purpose.

A similar approach is offered by Canyon with the Defend Fast Fenders. This complete fender kit is easily mounted via the thru-axle thanks to its quick-release system. They can be removed in minutes before a dry weather ride and put back on in no time before a ride in the rain.
