My name is Anton, and I'm the founder of the Routes&Roads bike shop . From childhood, I've always loved cycling and often went on multi-day fishing trips, taking only the bare essentials. Cycling brought me freedom and happiness. Later, I cycled dozens of routes—around Lake Geneva, through the Loire Valley châteaux, in Finland, and finally, from Paris to London.
For over 25 years, I've worked in the sporting goods retail industry, and I know how important it is to love what you do. Bicycle touring is in my blood, and I've always dreamed of developing the cycling industry while supporting bicycle travelers. That's how I started my business in France with the development of the WELT brand, one of whose priorities is to offer bikes for touring and adventure. I've succeeded in assembling a team of true enthusiasts and offering the European cycling market a variety of high-quality, stylishly designed solutions for bikepacking and commuting.
Over time, I realized I needed more direct interaction with cyclists and travelers. This led to the idea of a space to meet customers, listen carefully to their needs, and then offer new products that would be useful to them. That's how the idea for Routes&Roads was born. The store's name reflects the philosophy of travel and the freedom to choose your own path from among many directions.
It's symbolic that I signed the contract to acquire the store while walking the Camino de Santiago. Later, I learned that one of its routes passed just 100 meters from our store in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. For me, this was a sign and confirmation that the chosen name was the right one.
