The tire is the only point of contact between you and the ground. Not the frame, not the drivetrain, not the saddle — the tire. And yet, it's often the last thing we change. Until the day it punctures 30 km from Paris on a path with no network.
But beyond punctures, the wrong tire silently ruins every ride without us realizing it. A tire that's too narrow on trails, and you lose grip in turns without knowing why. A tire that's too wide on asphalt, and you're pedaling through cotton — your legs burn, but the speed doesn't come. An under-inflated tire, and the shocks reverberate through your wrists for 50 kilometers. Your physical fitness isn't the problem. It's the tire.
The right tire changes everything: cornering grip, comfort on technical trails, rolling resistance on the road, confidence on descents. It's often the cheapest and most effective adjustment you can make to a bike.
At Routes and Roads, we stock a wide selection of Maxxis tires for all uses: gravel, mountain bike, road, urban. The Rambler for long gravel rides in Île-de-France, the Ocelot for technical forest trails, the Rekon for mountain biking — there's definitely the right tire for your riding style. And if you don't know which one to choose, we'll help you: width, compound, tubeless or inner tube, recommended pressure according to your weight and terrain — we take the time to explain before installing.
Installation is done directly in our workshop by our mechanics. Drop off your bike, we'll take care of the rest.
