Dutch rider Demi Vollering won the penultimate stage of the Giro d'Italia Women 2026 thanks to a decisive attack on the final climb and a perfectly executed sprint.
Despite this stage victory, Anna van der Breggen retains the pink jersey as leader of the general classification. On the eve of the final stage around Saluzzo, only 49 seconds separate the two champions.
Initially planned for 101 km, the route was reduced to 77 km for safety reasons at the Colle delle Finestre, forcing teams to review their strategy at the last minute.
