Continental Terra Trail ShieldWall tire: Enhanced grip for unfamiliar trails

The Terra Trail ShieldWall is designed for those who love to venture off the beaten path. On straightaways, it rolls as fast as the Terra Speed, but its profile is distinguished by taller, more robust shoulder knobs to maintain control when the terrain becomes more technical. Its complex tread pattern is designed to dominate challenging gravel and natural trails, offering secure grip in every turn.

The PureGrip compound, derived from an activated silica compound, ensures excellent grip while remaining durable, fitting perfectly alongside the renowned BlackChili in the Continental Performance range (road and mountain bike). The ShieldWall system adds a layer of puncture protection all around, made of a thin, cross-woven fabric, combining high puncture resistance, low rolling resistance, and a light weight.

Despite this extra layer, the tire retains excellent damping and flexibility, conforming to the terrain for comfort and control. The Tubeless Ready bead, compatible with hookless systems, allows for easy and reliable mounting; for improved sealing and optimal performance, Continental recommends using RevoSealant sealant.

The casing construction is robust and resistant to damage and foreign objects, while remaining lightweight and versatile. Tires designed with this technology can be used both tubeless and with inner tubes. Like the rest of Continental's urban/trekking range, the adapted versions are also suitable for e-bikes up to 25 km/h, with some e50 variants certified for S-Pedelecs, featuring a high-quality structure that combines high puncture protection and low rolling resistance to limit premature wear due to electric assistance.
