Does your child need a new bike? The 5 telltale signs!
Children grow quickly – and a bike that's too small can quickly become uncomfortable and dangerous. Find out how to tell if your child has grown and needs a new children's bike:
Signs that the bike is too small
-
The saddle is at its maximum height, but the legs are not fully extended.
-
The child often gets up from the saddle to pedal.
-
The handlebars are too close or too low
-
The child is complaining of pain (knees, back, wrists)
-
It lacks stability on roads or paths.
👉 If you notice these signs, it's time to change the child's bike to a larger size.
📏 What should the correct position be?
-
The leg is almost fully extended at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
-
The child can place their feet on the ground effortlessly
-
The back is slightly inclined, without tension
-
The handlebars are easy to reach
A good riding position means more comfort, safety and enjoyment .
