This is the ideal time to prepare your bike before your rides. A complete service (or bike overhaul) ensures safe riding and extends the lifespan of your equipment. At Routes & Roads, we explain what's included in a pre-season check-up for your bike, whether it's a road bike, gravel bike, or mountain bike.
1. DRIVETRAIN CHECK
The chain, derailleurs, and cogs are inspected and cleaned. Tension and alignment are adjusted to ensure smooth and precise pedaling.
2. BRAKES AND SAFETY
Pads, discs, or shoes are checked. Brake adjustment ensures optimal braking distance and your safety on the road or trails.
3. TIRES AND WHEELS
We check tire wear, pressure, and the condition of the inner tubes. Wheels are inspected for any wobbles or play in the spokes, to avoid unpleasant surprises on your rides.
4. STEERING AND SUSPENSION
For bikes with suspension, shock absorbers and forks are inspected and adjusted if necessary. The steering is checked to ensure stability and comfort.
5. LUBRICATION AND ADJUSTMENTS
All moving parts are greased: chain, cables, pivots. Saddle height, handlebars, and accessories are adjusted for your comfort and performance.
6. ACCESSORIES AND DETAILS
Lighting, mudguards, luggage racks, and baskets are checked and installed if necessary, so your bike is ready to face the season in the best conditions.
đź’ˇ Routes & Roads Tip: remember to get your first service of the season before your first long rides. If you bought your bike from us, the first check-up is free!
