Spring is here, and it's the perfect time to get your bike ready for your rides. A complete service (or bike check-up ) ensures safe riding and extends the life of your equipment. At Routes & Roads , we explain what's included in a pre-season check-up for your bike, whether it's a road bike, a gravel bike, or a mountain bike.
1. Transmission check
The chain, derailleurs, and sprockets are inspected and cleaned. Tension and alignment are adjusted to ensure smooth and precise pedaling .
2. Brakes and safety
The brake pads, discs, or shoes are checked. Brake adjustment ensures optimal braking distance and your safety on roads or trails.
3. Tires and wheels
We check tire wear, pressure, and inner tube condition. Wheels are inspected for any wobble or play in the spokes to prevent unpleasant surprises on your rides.
4. Steering and Suspension
For bicycles with suspension, shock absorbers and forks are inspected and adjusted if necessary. The steering is checked to ensure stability and comfort .
5. Lubrication and adjustments
All moving parts are lubricated: chain, cables, pivots. The saddle height, handlebars and accessories are adjusted for your comfort and performance .
6. Accessories and details
Lighting, mudguards, luggage racks and baskets are checked and installed if necessary, so that your bike is ready to face the season in the best conditions.
